Emma Roberts Announces She's Expecting Her First Baby With Garrett Hedlund and Reveals Gender
Emma Roberts has broken her silence on reports she's pregnant...and confirmed the news personally, announcing her baby's gender, too. The American Horror Story actress posted an Instagram story of herself showing her pregnant stomach. "Me...and my two favorite guys 💙💙," Roberts wrote. In the second slide in her gallery, she appears alongside her boyfriend Garrett Hedlund. The couple has not announced their baby boy's due date.
Us Weekly first reported Roberts' pregnancy in June.

Roberts and Hedlund were first romantically linked in March 2019 when they were photographed holding hands in Silver Lake. Nearly a year later in January 2020, a source told Us Weekly that the two were not that serious at the time. “They are not talking an engagement or marriage at the moment,” the source said. “They like hanging out and going out together, and their relationship is more fun than serious.”
But by late July 2020, Us was told by a source that Roberts and Hedlund were planning to take "the next step" in their relationship. Their pregnancy hadn't been intended but was happy news: "They are surprised, shocked and happy at the same time, and so are their families,” the source said.

Roberts spoke to Cosmopolitan for its May 2019 cover story about choosing to keep her love life and breakups private. “I never want to talk about relationships I’m in or that are ending or have ended," she said. "It’s hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience. Growing up is hard. Sometimes it makes me sad that I can’t have a private moment. Because of Twitter and Instagram, there’s a whole other element where everybody can comment on what you’re doing and no one knows the real story. That’s hard.”
