Emma Chamberlain Filmed Her Latest Haircut
YouTube star Emma Chamberlain has made a career by filming literally everything that has happened to her, so it shouldn't surprise us one bit that she documented her latest haircut.
The social media celebrity linked up with celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin (who works with stars like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid) to document her shortest haircut to date and the result is sophisticated, stylish, and totally Emma.
The video, which was posted to Jen's YouTube channel, is called "I CUT EMMA CHAMBERLAIN'S HAIR (AND MADE HER CRY)." And, yes, the caps are necessary, but don't worry — this isn't a super dramatic and dark video at all. In fact, it's really funny. "I'm a HUGE fan of Emma's and this was the most fun day despite both of us being on 4 hours of sleep," Jen wrote. "Thank you Emma for not actually crying and for teaching me how to title my episodes."
In the vid, Jen and Emma are a dynamic team and the jokes start flying as Jen gets to work. Emma gives the stylist free rein over her new look and says she can do whatever she wants as long as she looks "dateable" at the end. The twist? Emma can't see what Jen's doing to her hair, because they cut her access to the monitors. Eek!
While Jen cuts, she and Emma discuss her past hairstyles, including an ill-advised at-home blue streak, a super-high and voluminous cheerleading ponytail with a sequined bow that you have to see to believe, and an adorable bob that she rocked as a child but doesn't seem interested in wearing today.
However, Emma does end up going pretty short. Jen uses a razor to zip off about six inches of her straight brown hair, but the YouTube star doesn't seem panicked at all — she even plays with the cut-off ponytail.
Finally, Emma's new cut is revealed: a collarbone-grazing long bob with subtle texture. "It's so much shorter than I thought!" Emma exclaims at first. She loves it and mentions that her mom will feel the same way. Hey, Emma, we're big fans of the cut too, and definitely planning a similar chop for spring!
