Emma Chamberlain’s bedroom features sculptural furniture that feels like an ‘art piece’

The home of internet personality Emma Chamberlain is not one we’ll likely tire of admiring any time soon. A mid-century home that was designed by interior designers Proem Studio, the home is a delightful celebration of design; a collection of vintage and modern pieces that create a deeply personal and energetic space that is wonderfully unique.

We’ve previously deep-dived into other rooms throughout the home, such as the bathroom which uses unique materials, but today, we’re taking a closer look at the bedroom.

The bedroom is a peaceful and light-filled space, thanks to the room's generous proportions and elevated ceiling height. With white walls and a wooden sloped ceiling, the space features two symmetrical long windows that connect the space to the outdoors and give it a feeling of tranquility.

In terms of the decor, the statement piece in the room is the oversized bed, which boasts a sculptural form and creates cozy bedroom ideas. The bed is upholstered in a soft and feminine dusty pink velvet and is contrasted against more understated items, such as the super minimalist bedside lamps.

‘I want the materials to make a statement. I like things that feel like an art piece, like a painting, in and of themselves,’ Emma Chamberlain tells Architectural Digest.

Mastering the look of an ‘art piece’ as shown in Emma’s bedroom, opting for large and sculptural pieces of furniture trends works well in large, open spaces as the furniture can be oversized without overpowering the space. If you don’t have so much available space to play with, you can of course adopt this style on a smaller scale, with lots of furniture options encompassing the sculptural look.

Jennifer Ebert, Homes & Gardens deputy editor elaborates on the trend: ‘Bringing in sculptural pieces of furniture into the home is effective in contrasting against harsh, rectangular shapes that are particularly common in newly-built homes. Opting for sculptural pieces adds softness to the home and creates warming and relaxing environments, which is perfect for rooms such as the bedroom.’
