Emily Ratajkowski has an easy but transformative style hack to add some edge to your wardrobe this season.

While walking her dog, Colombo, in New York City yesterday, the model wore a casual outfit consisting of a graphic navy-blue halter top with a plunging V-neckline and a pair of baggy black jeans. She put a twist on the low-key outfit by unbuttoning her jeans to roll them down, exposing just the tiniest sliver of her midriff. Finishing off the look, EmRata wore white sneakers, wiry gold frame glasses, hoop earrings, and layers of gold necklaces (including a nameplate necklace dedicated to her two-year-old son, Sylvester Apollo).

This isn’t the first time that EmRata has employed this style hack.

In April, while promoting a new line of swimsuits for her clothing brand, Inamorata, the writer posed in a cheetah-print swimsuit set and a dark blue EB Denim miniskirt, which she wore unbuttoned and rolled down to reveal the swimsuit’s bottoms.

And last month, she also folded down her blue denim jeans while courtside at the Knicks playoff game at Madison Square Garden. There, she paired her pants with a black cropped T-shirt printed with a still of Megan Fox from the cult-classic film Jennifer’s Body.

Ratajkowski talked about her experimental sense of style in a 2022 interview with Grazia UK. “When I started modeling full-time, I felt intimidated by fashion. I felt there were so many rules,” she said. “But as I grew up and became more comfortable with myself, more of a woman, I was like, ‘This can be fun.’ Breaking the rules intentionally, understanding the history of fashion in the way I hadn’t before. Pulling from that.”
