Emily Ratajkowski Puts a New Twist on Old Celine

Celine is under new management, but don’t tell that to Phoebe Philo’s celebrity devotees. The latest star to embrace Old Celine is model Emily Ratajkowski, who pulled out a classic from the archives yesterday in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz. Out with her parents for lunch (and to admire her latest billboard), Ratajkowski chose a turquoise tube top and matching skirt paired with low top sneakers and a piece de resistance: an ombre lizard skin box bag from Philo’s Winter 2015 accessories collection.

Though her strapless top and skirt combo would have been striking on its own, the addition of the exotic bag took things up a notch. By complementing both her oversize gold earrings and the vivid color of her separates, the handbag elevated an otherwise casual outfit.

She acquired the statement purse last year, and it has since become one Ratajkowski’s favorite acccessories. The star has worn it with everything from jeans and a tank top on the streets of Manhattan last May to a flirty Jacquemus top and plum trousers for September’s It Girl’s soiree. An effortless piece that deserves to be in heavy rotation, it’s a testament to the enduring quality of Philo’s designs.
