Emily Ratajkowski loads up on carbs for Christmas calendar

For the past few years, the London fashion magazine Love has been producing stylish, eye-catching, and sometimes eyebrow-raising Advent calendars for the Christmas season. Because Love is a fashion periodical with famous friends and fans, the calendar gets a lot of attention during the holidays — 2017 is no exception. Day 3 of the calendar features none other than Emily Ratajkowski. For her contribution, the 26-year-old actress and model decided to load up on carbs, in every sense of the word.

As some sort of explanation for the racy video of EmRat dressed in lingerie, slathered with spaghetti, the magazine offered this message: “Emily doesn’t exercise and when Katie Grand told her about the #staystrong concept and asked her what she wanted to do exercise wise, she asked to eat pasta and drink red wine as her exercise. Lolz so she was named Carb Loading Day, which is in fact a real thing for athletes.” In fact it is, but somehow we don’t think most carb days look like this.

StayStrong is the theme for the year, and the calendar debuted with a clip of plus-size model Ashley Graham pulling a sled through the streets of New York City. Other entries in the annual feature will include Gigi and Bella Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, and Hailey Baldwin.

“To me, female sexuality and sexiness, no matter how conditioned it may be by a patriarchal ideal, can be incredibly empowering for a woman if she feels it is empowering to her,” Ratajkowski says. “The way I dress, act, flirt, dance, have sex — those are my decisions and they shouldn’t be impacted by men. Being sexy is fun, and I like it. I should never have to apologize for that. My life is on my terms, and if I feel like putting on sexy underwear, it’s for me.”
