Emily Blunt is making a fashion statement in a bold color.

Last night, the A Quiet Place actress attended the 2022 Freeing Voices, Changing Lives Gala in New York City. For the occasion, stylist Jessica Paster dressed the star in a bright coral dress featuring puffed sleeves, black ribbon detailing at the waist and hem, and an abstract, smoky purple-and-black pattern running down the center. The unique piece hails from Roksanda's fall winter 2022 collection.

The vibrant ensemble was accessorized with a pair of strappy black heels, a gold chain and pendant necklace, and forest green statement earrings. Blunt kept her glam relatively natural, opting for a pinky rosy lip and tying her dirty blonde locks up in a ponytail braid.

During the gala, Blunt spoke with People about how becoming an actress helped her confront her stutter, a speech disorder she's had since she was a child.

She told the outlet that acting "was a sort of invitation into speaking fluently for one of the first times," even if her stutter wasn't necessarily "cured." She added, "Once you are a stutterer, you will always be a stutterer."

"I wouldn't say that's why I've ventured into acting, but it was just a bit shocking the first time I was able to speak, you know, doing a silly voice or an accent pretending to be someone else," she continued. "People don't talk about [it] enough if it hasn't got enough exposure, and millions of people around the world struggle with it. And I think it's a very moving force. If you can't express yourself, you can't be yourself. And there's something very poignant in freeing people of the grip of a speech impediment, because it's like a sort of imposter that lives in your body."
