Emilio Pucci Resort 2022

Emilio Pucci has been a pioneer in many ways. Among the innovations he introduced to fashion in the 1960s are the uniforms he designed for Braniff Airlines that were presented with “The Air Strip” commercial, in which a hostess performed a sort of chic striptease to reveal her official outfit’s different layers.

Those uniforms not only inspired the silhouettes of the brand’s latest resort collection but also its spirit: playful but sophisticated.

Short lengths took center stage in the lineup. Minidresses in ’60s uncomplicated shapes, shorts matched with cropped tops and miniskirts put the focus on the legs for a sense of free-spirited femininity.

Pucci’s signature prints — this time featuring stylized butterflies and astrolabes — were revamped through a modern, chic twist, and juxtaposed with solids for a perfectly balanced color exploration.

Built as a wardrobe of easy mix and match pieces, the collection ranged from sporty-chic sustainable puffers and double cashmere coats to ribbed knitted underpinnings, plissé jersey minidresses and glamorous frocks with a cascade of shimmering sequins.

Expressing the energetic attitude of the company’s founder, the collection marked another step toward the repositioning of the brand in the luxury segment.
