Emilia Clarke Opens Up About the Possibility of Reshooting the Final Season of ‘Game of Thrones’

You have to admit: After ten years of the epic fantasy show Game of Thrones, season eight did feel way too fast. The rushed ending had some people, well, at least a million, signing a petition asking HBO to redo season eight.

And while we're not saying they should consider a do-over (the cast and crew worked too damn hard, not to mention that a new season would never live up to the myriad of expectations), it did pique our imagination about what a different outcome would look like...

We know, we know: It's probably never going to happen. But, if you had asked us a year ago if Breaker of Chains Daenerys would become the antagonist, we would've sworn up and down that it was impossible. So when Emilia Clarke, who recently sat down with The New Yorker, opened up about the possibility, we had to listen.

When asked if HBO were to reshoot the finale season, Clarke said she had a few ideas in mind.

"Well, I can only speak to my own character, and the people that I interact with on the show," the 32-year-old actress said. "But I would’ve loved some more scenes with me and Missandei. I would’ve loved some more scenes with me and Cersei."

She and Cersei? Two evil queens in one room? Tell us more!

"Yeah. I would’ve loved some more scenes between Grey Worm and Missandei. I would’ve loved to see a bit more between Cersei... I feel like there was... The genocide was there. That was always going to happen," Clarke said.

"And I just think more dissection and those beautifully written scenes that the boys have between characters—that we are more than happy to contently sit there and watch ten minutes of two people talking, because it’s beautiful. I just wanted to see a bit more of that."

Just imagine: a scene between Dany, now fully in kill-everyone mode, and evil Cersei, finally begging for her life after decades of inflicting torture on her enemies. It would've been chilling.

"But I’m in no position to critique the geniuses that have written eight seasons’ worth of wonderful stuff," Clarke diplomatically added.

Hey, a girl can (dragon) dream.
