Emilia Clarke Almost Caused a Major Accident With Samuel L. Jackson

Marvel's new Disney+ series Secret Invasion successfully premiered on the streaming platform on June 21, but actress Emilia Clarke, who plays the character G'iah, revealed that, during production, she almost caused a major accident involving the series' star, Samuel L. Jackson.
The two actors are currently promoting the Marvel show, and during a Los Angeles press day, Clarke shared with Yahoo Entertainment, "I nearly ran [Jackson] over."
"They put me in a Lada, which is like a very old Russian car," she elaborated. "And I got in and I was like, ‘Hey, what's with the six [shift knobs] up in here? Which one am I using? Why does it have 10 pedals?’ It's [like] a tractor…"
Clarke went on, describing the moment when she managed to barely avoid an accident: "So I'm like, ‘OK, I can do this. It’s just one stop.’ Get in there. We get up to it. The camera is right there. Sam is right there. And I pressed the wrong thing, I pressed the accelerator rather than the brake.”
The actress also noted that the production was a little rushed while filming this scene, leaving her little time to become familiar with the vehicle.
She said, "I know how to drive. I know how to drive stick. [But there wasn’t] enough time. They’re saying, ‘We've gotta go. We’re shooting. Come on honey. Just go. We're gonna go.’"
Thankfully, Jackson was extremely understanding, with Clarke recalling, "He was very gentlemanly and lovely and nice."
But after the almost accident, Clarke handed over the wheel to someone else, admitting, “Then I cried a little bit and someone else drove it for me.”
