Stranger Things Star Priah Ferguson's Character, Erica Sinclair, Inspired a New Viral Meme

"Isn't it past your bedtime?"

Stranger Things season three has only been out for a week and it has already inspired one of the best memes (maybe ever?). The meme features season 3 series regular Priah Ferguson, who plays Erica Sinclair.

In the first season, Erica was established as the feisty, intelligent, no-nonsense little sister of Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin). Fans loved her energy big time. Priah was later confirmed for Stranger Things season three, and written into a bigger role for the season.

There are plenty of good Erica moments in the new season, but it's really her first scene — a quick interaction with Lucas in the Starcourt Mall food court — that really takes the cake. The interaction is seen in episode one, "Suzie, Do You Copy?", where Lucas, Mike, Will, and Max race to the movie theater so they can catch a showing of George Romero's Day of the Dead. As the group passes Erica and her friends, who are all sitting and eating ice cream, Lucas stops and looks at his sister. He scolds her with, "Isn't it past your bedtime?" Erica, without hesitating, snaps back, "Isn't it time you die?"

In a word: iconic.

The feisty interaction between the constantly bickering siblings didn't go unnoticed by viewers. Screenshots were made, the quotes were taken from the show, and all of the magic of that scene was turned into a truly perfect meme. The two lines ("Isn't it past your bedtime?" and "Isn't it time you die?") are used to juxtapose two characters from a particular movie, TV show, anime, video game, what have you. The character who says "Isn't it past your bedtime?" is usually someone older, stuffier, or a villainous type worthy of a sharp rebuke. The character who says "Isn't it time you died?" is younger and may or may not be prone to saying lines like that, making it all the funnier when those words are spoken by an unlikely character.

Below are some of the best interpretations (including an A+ version of Billy and Steve from Stranger Things). This meme is still going strong, so expect it to populate your timeline, and maybe give you some inspiration to create one of your own.
