Star Wars: The Last Jedi 's Lightsaber Fight Is Somehow Even Better with Nicki Minaj and “Footloose”

The music of Star Wars is so iconic that it's hard to even picture the movies without the swell of the opening crawl or ominous "Imperial March." Even the prequels, for all their mess and squalor, gave us the "Duel of the Fates," the score to the epic Darth Maul fight scene, which may be the one salvageable thing in all three movies.

It's clear that the original Star Wars trilogy was made with that epic score in mind, and the newest movies are no different. In fact, some scenes are so well designed to sync up with music, that they work with... well almost anything. Take The Last Jedi, when Rey and Kylo Ren face off against Snoke's Praetorian Guards. With the right timing, you can set the whole sequence to anything beyond John Williams' score. Like, say, Kenny Loggins' "Footloose."

Or Outkast's "Hey Ya!"

And this is completely sincere, but the weirdly appropriate "Star Ships" proves J.J. Abrams should consider replacing John Williams with Nicki Minaj for Episode IX. It's got the added bonus of pissing off alt right trolls, who, honestly, wouldn't be happy with the movie anyway.
