SNL Figures Out Who Gets to Say "Wakanda Forever"

Chadwick Boseman turns out to be surprisingly funny.

Black Panther's winning streak hasn't slowed down in the almost two months that it's been out. It's overcome Titanic and and become the third highest grossing movie ever in the U.S. box office, and is even making waves in Saudi Arabia.

But the insane popularity is also causing some tension among fans. Namely, who gets to say "Wakanda forever?" With Chadwick Boseman hosting, SNL tries to find some room to negotiate, as three black fans (Leslie Jones, Chris Redd, and Boseman) debate two white fans (Beck Bennett and Pete Davidson, who keep pronouncing "Wakanda" with thick-as-hell Midwestern accents).

Bennett: We love the movie too. Why can't we just do the salute?

Jones: Because we know your history, you don't give stuff back.

Good points all around, so clearly the only solution is literal negotiations, with both sides huddling to come up with what they're willing to trade away. (Sidenote: Boseman's barely audible "blues, jazz" while they're pretending to talk is the best throwaway joke of the sketch.)

Boseman: Our social collective has come to the determination that the Wakanda salute, it belongs to everyone. We're all lucky to have it. But in exchange, you must give back dabbing.

Bennett: We're not gonna give up dabbing.

Davidson: Yeah, but you can have back Drake.
