Brooklyn Nine-Nine Is Coming Back After All

That was a scary 24 hours.

Well folks, for the first time in my life, I was wrong. Just over 24 hours after Fox canceled and seemingly murdered the underrated sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, it's been revived elsewhere. Most predicted the show would find a second life on a cash-rich streaming site like Netflix or Hulu. but both passed on Friday night for unknown (and presumably stupid) reasons. Instead, NBC has taken up responsibility for the show's sixth season, as creator Michael Schur tweeted out at exactly midnight:

This shouldn't be all that surprising. Schur has a wonderful relationship with the network, having presided over critical darlings Parks and Recreation and the still-running The Good Place. Still, it's rare another broadcast network cleans up another's mess, and rarer still we get good TV news.

Not to be outdone, Fox announced it would be replacing the gaping hole left by Nine-Nine and the wonderful The Last Man on Earth with [checks notes] the previously cancelled Tim Allen vehicle, Last Man Standing. Fox, who hurt you?
