Bachelor in Paradise Season 5, Episode 11 Recap: The Finale

On the season five finale of 'Bachelor in Paradise,' couples get engaged, reunite, and breakup. Find out what happened.

This season of Bachelor in Paradise had its highs (Jordan's stuffed animal tantrum) and lows (everything to do with Leo), and the finale was no different. So let's get right into it, shall we? Spoilers ahead.

Rather than put us through two hours of "will they or won't they?" drama, the editors very kindly reveal what happens with the remaining couples right away. First up, Kamil and Annaliese profess their love for each other, but Kamil admits he's not ready for an engagement yet. "I need to move at a pace that is long-term for us," he tells Annaliese, as her soul crumples inside. She puts on a brave face, though, and says she "totally" agrees.

"I wanted to come in here and be, like, engaged at the end, but, like, I'm not worried," Annaliese says. "I know that he wants to marry me. It may not be today, it may be in a couple weeks or a couple months, but we're on that path."

Next up is Jenna and Jordan. When they get to the beach, Jenna's so nervous she needs a minute to gather herself. "I was scared of love and happiness," she tells Jordan once she calms down. "You slayed all my demons without hesitation." Jordan gives a little speech himself before proposing with a sparkly Neil Lane ring. She says yes, natch.

Finally, Chris throws a curveball when he and Krystal head to the beach. "I have to be honest with you," he says. "I'm so sorry, Krystal, but it would be unfair to the both of us if I left here today holding your hand...because I want to leave here holding your heart." With that, he proposes and she says yes. Really, Chris? A prank during a proposal? (To hear his side of the story, read our interview.)

After the proposals, the episode transitions to Chris Harrison in the studio with the cast. Everyone's greeted with a cheer except for Leo, who gets booed. We get a few updates on the couples. Eric apologizes to Angela for ending things too soon, Tia and New Bachelor Colton are friends now, and Olivia reveals she and John spent one weekend together before he told her he just wanted to be friends. She's a little salty about it because he's said publicly that he's been Facetiming with Chelsea and that felt like a slap in the face. Then we totally move on and NEVER ADDRESS THIS. (Are Chelsea and John together? What's going on? Someone please tweet me @annamoeslein with updates.)

Anyway, Jordan and Benoit have another tiff—lame—but the big reveal is that David and Jordan are chill with each other now. Wow, love really has changed Jordan.

Next, Chris Harrison brings Astrid and Kevin out onto the stage. She's still hurt about their breakup and finding it hard to trust him. He says he still regrets doing the fantasy suite with Ashley on Bachelor in Paradise: Winter Games, so when it came time for it on Paradise he freaked out. Once he went home, he went back to therapy and realized the split was his fault and his own baggage. He still loves Astrid, and she still loves him, so hopefully, they can work it out.

Speaking of breakups, Kendall regrets ending things with Joe. So she went to Chicago to apologize and tell him she's in love with him. They reveal that they've visited each other a few times and are in love. "I like waking up next to her," Joe says. Then, Chris Harrison offers Joe a spot on Dancing With the Stars so the two can be in the same city (Los Angeles) for some time. (Yes, really, Joe is doing DWTS.)

So what are Annaliese and Kamil up to? WELL LET ME TELL YOU. Poor Annaliese shows up onstage and is halfway through bragging about how good their relationship is when Kamil stops her to say, "I think I may not be the guy for you." He then proceeds to go on and on about how he lost the spark after paradise and acts as if he's doing her this huge favor by breaking up with her on national television. Annaliese is like, WTF, we just booked an Airbnb together? (So real. So relatable.) Kamil claims he wanted to do this face to face…and the first chance was on TV, dude?

In other news, Jenna and Jordan are still engaged and claim they want to get married next summer on Bachelor in Paradise. (That is, unless those rumors currently floating around are true?)

When Chris and Krystal get their time in the spotlight, Chris starts crying because he's so happy. There's a cute video of him meeting her dogs, and they reveal that they're moving in together soon. Their families have already met; in fact, their moms are BFFs. Cute!

And that wraps this season of Paradise. I'll see you all in January—enjoy the break!
