Elvira was ever the die-hard Outlander fan during an appearance at New York Comic-Con, where she posed for a photo with the show's leading man, Sam Heughan

Cassandra Peterson—the real life persona behind Mistress of the Dark, Elvira—was present for the event in New York City over the weekend, where the 71-year-old was able to fangirl over Heughan, 42, in an adorable photo-op.

"With @Outlander_STARZ @SamHeughan at @NY_Comic_Con," the actress wrote in a tweet posted on Sunday, Oct. 9, alongside the sweet pic featuring her arms wrapped around Heughan's neck.

The tweet got Heughan's attention, to which he responded: "Love this!"

She also posted another tweet on Sunday, featuring a photo with more members of the Outlander cast, along with the message, "Love the show!!!"

"Good for you !!! I’m a fan too" one user wrote in response to Peterson's tweet.

This has got to be one of my favorite photos of all time!!! @TheRealElvira + @SamHeughan = swoon," another person chimed in

"Best crossover!!!" someone else added

Peterson—who has portrayed her dark alter-ego for 40 years—has recently been substituting her iconic black wig for her natural red locks while embracing her true identity, an ability she credits to her autobiography, Yours Cruelly

"I can go everywhere as myself now, I don't have to dress up as Elvira," she recently told Indie Wire. "I can do conventions, show appearances, as myself. I think my autobiography is what changed that."

Peterson also discussed how her life has changed since coming out one year ago, an announcement she also revealed in the 2021 memoir.

"I can go everywhere with my partner and we don't have to pretend she's my assistant. It's fantastic for me and especially for her," she gushed to the outlet.

In the interview, the Scream Queen opened up about losing more than 11K social media followers after coming out, although she ended up gaining 60K more.

"My hardcore fans don't give a rat's ass what I do. Most of them saying being out makes them like me even more," she continued, adding: "The horror genre really stands out as an inclusive genre of filmmaking. It's so inclusive of different races, different sexualities, different genders, everything."
