Elton John Fans Are Crying Over the Singer's Tour Announcement on Instagram

Sir Elton John just dropped a major announcement on his social media pages this Wednesday — and his fans truly can't believe it.
Recording a special video message in front of performance lights, the 74-year-old music legend shared that the closing stadium dates for his tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour in North America and Europe have been locked in. Elton also explained that the news he's sharing today is something he's been working toward all of his life. He said:
"The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career. Whether it’s next summer in Frankfurt or at the legendary Dodger Stadium for the grand finale in the United States, I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time. This has been an incredible tour so far, full of the most amazing highs, and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows. To all my friends down under, We’ll be seeing you too. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in your town.”

And with that, the "Tiny Dancer" singer confirmed that this will be the last time folks in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be able to see Elton perform in a touring concert (though, there's always the chance he performs at a televised special event here and there).
The Grammy-winning music icon first made the announcement in January of 2018 when he explained during a New York press conference that this would be "the last time he would be touring and traveling the world," citing a change of priorities in his life as the reason. Together with his husband, David Furnish, the two are parents to sons Elijah, 8, and Zachary, 10.
Not surprisingly, the coronavirus pandemic caused extensive delays for the concert series. Now, however, it sounds like Elton will kick off the last leg of his tour on May 27, 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany and continue to venture across Europe through June. Starting July 15, Elton will then start his North American set in Philadelphia and conclude on November 20 in Los Angeles.
Realizing the gravity of this news, his fans on Instagram couldn't help but flood the comments section of this video announcement with both enthusiastic excitement for the concert and "😭" emojis for Elton's upcoming retirement from touring.
"This is bittersweet! Your songs helped me so much ❤️❤️," one fan wrote. "Sad but totally understand. You need to spend time with those precious sons of yours 💗🎶🎵💗😊🤗," another said. "I am in tears knowing this is the last time I might have the chance to see you. I pray I can get tickets this time around for DC," someone else noted.
The show is expected to include performances of Elton's most popular hits, including "Bennie and the Jets," "Tiny Dancer," "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" and more.
