How are you feeling about the Tesla Cybertruck design now that we’re a year out from its contentious unveiling? Has the polygonal aesthetic grown on you? Or did you defend CEO Elon Musk’s radical design only to fall out of love now that other electric trucks have offered some competition?

Love it or hate it, we’re getting a new Cybertruck design soon. That’s according to Electrek, where it was reported that Musk let it slip on Twitter that an updated design of the EV pickup will be unveiled “maybe in a month or so.”

In the last 12 months, Musk — who normally errs on the side of overconfidence in his automaker — has wavered on the Cybertruck design. First he considered making the truck smaller and more manageable, but eventually shut down that idea. Then in August he talked about potentially scrapping the futuristic design altogether for a “normal pickup” if sales flopped. But if his tweets are to be believed, the redesign may be less drastic than classic truck fans hope.

“New design is better with many minor tweaks,” Musk wrote in response to a Twitter user who said the design is already “perfect.” He added: “Even the small details matter.”

We’ll check back in once the update is revealed. Until then, while the final Cybertruck design remains nebulous, the Austin, Texas factory where they will reportedly be built is becoming very, very real.
