Ellen Pompeo Responds to 'Grey's Anatomy' Backlash
Since the news broke last week thatGrey's Anatomy's Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew (who play Arizona and April) would be leaving the show, many have speculated about the future of the medical drama that's been running for 14 seasons. Some even said that the Drew and Capshaw's departure wasdue to recent commentsEllen Pompeo made about her salary. Last night, Pompeo took to Twitter to dispel some negativity and stand up for her crew.

Fans are, understandably, upset about the characters leaving. In the time since the departures were announced, more than 30,000 fans have signed a petition protesting Capshaw and Drew's dismissal. Pompeo went on to reply to a fan by saying that while they're allowed to be upset, they shouldn't spread hateful words around the internet.

After her tweets got more replies and critiques, Pompeo eventually told her followers she wouldn't be saying any more about the matter.

She's also critiqued the media, in particular Deadline, which published the article that alleged the casting change was due to her salary, for pitting women against each other. "Shame on you, not me," she tweeted at the time.
