Ellen Pompeo Just Went *Off* About “Out of Touch TV Docs” and Told Them to “Sit Your Stupid Asses Down”

Wow, add Ellen Pompeo to the list of people who you do *not* want to mess with, ’cause she just went off on Twitter about TV docs Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, and Dr. Drew. Why was she pissed? Well, these dudes have been spewing less than legit advice and commentary about coronavirus—Dr. Phil compared coronavirus deaths to the annual death toll from swimming pools, Dr. Oz called reopening schools an “appetizing opportunity” because it would “only” cause 2 to 3 percent of people to die, and Dr. Drew called the coronavirus outbreak “a press-induced panic.” So, for obvious reasons, Ellen isn’t having it!

She first took to Twitter to vent in a more general way, saying that “old white guy tv docs who say stupid selfish shit” should walk it right back, adding, “tired of out of touch old fools, don’t get me started today.”

However, it seems like someone did get her started, because Ellen then continued to drag “out of touch tv docs” for “making careless statements in this environment when so many health care workers are suffering physically and emotionally.” And honestly, she has a point: People who spread false information about coronavirus aren’t just putting themselves or their audience at risk—when more people unnecessarily end up in the hospital because of those comments, they’re putting more strain on the already overburdened medical system and potentially putting health care workers even more at risk of contracting the virus.

And it didn’t take long for Ellen to reveal who she was talking about. She responded to a tweet about Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, and Dr. Drew and continued to slam them, saying, “They have been so busy in their dressing rooms getting their faces powdered and worrying about their ratings...they have no idea what doctors and health care professionals on the front lines actually do or they just don’t care.” Preach, girl!

In conclusion: We have no choice but to stan Ellen even harder than before!
