It’s a great day to binge all of Grey’s Anatomy because the last episode that Ellen Pompeo will ever star in as a main character airs Feb. 23. After all, she's acted in over 400 episodes of the show between 2005 and today, so it would be a major understatement to say the titular character of Meredith Grey will be sorely missed in the OR and beyond.

Of course, long before she became Meredith Grey, Ellen already had a few acting gigs under her belt, but her career didn’t skyrocket until booking the medical drama. There’s no doubt that Ellen worked her butt off during her years in the iconic role, and she was massively compensated for her acting... But more on that later.

Ahead, learn more about Ellen Pompeo’s massive net worth today, including how much she makes from Grey’s Anatomy each year for the episodes she stars in, and the other ways she makes dough.

Grey’s Anatomy helped Ellen cash in big.

From 2007 to 2008 (roughly seasons 3 and 4), she was making $200,000 per episode, but that salary was bumped up to $275,000 during seasons 5 and 6 in 2009, IMDb wrote. By 2012 (seasons 8 and 9), she was making $350,000 per episode, the outlet continued.

For seasons 15 and 16, Ellen renegotiated her salary deal, per CBS News. As of 2022, she makes $550,000 per episode and racks in an additional $6 million for syndication profits, totaling $19 million a year, Forbes reported. And *that’s* how she became the eighth-richest actress of 2020 (and reportedly the highest-paid cast member on the show), per Parade.

But she’s also been in other movies and shows.

Before she was Meredith Grey, Ellen was in a ton of other movies and television shows, booking her first role in a short film in 1995, according to IMDb. She then went on to act in Law & Order (1996 – 2000), Moonlight Mile (2002), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Daredevil (2003), Friends (2004), and, you might remember her cameo in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video (2015), according to the outlet.

Ellen is also a television producer.

Of course, she owns her own production company called Calamity Jane, per The Hollywood Reporter. Plus, she’s a co-executive producer on a Grey’s Anatomy spin-off, Station 19, per Cosmopolitan.

Not only that, but Ellen also sold an anthology drama to Amazon about different American fashion designers, Rolling Stone wrote. I love to see a girlboss winning.

Ellen accumulated a lot of pricey real estate.

Fun fact: In 2017, Ellen owned five multi-million dollar homes with husband Chris Ivery, per Dirt. Ellen listed three homes for sale between August 2017 and April 2018, per Observer, and ended up selling the last one for just under $2.8 million (she bought it in 2005 for $1.3 million), the outlet wrote.

In December 2019, Ellen sold her Hamptons home—which she designed herself—for $2.995 million, according to The Los Angeles Times, and she previously sold two Hollywood Hills homes for $2.075 million in 2017 and $2.765 million in 2018.

Ellen has also done some brand work on Instagram.

Seriously. Ellen plugged Martha Stewart’s CBD line in 2021 and a baby care line called Young Living Seedlings back in 2018 through her social posts.

While I can’t say for sure just how much she makes from these posts, the hottest celeb #sponcon can run between nearly $449,000 (what Rihanna makes) and over $1 million (what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson makes) as of 2020, per Vogue Australia. So, she probably makes a bit under that first number. Hey, everything counts!

Plus, Ellen is the co-founder of a health brand.

In November 2021, she co-founded Betr Remedies, an over-the-counter brand offering cold and flu, allergy, pain, sleep, hydrate, and digestive remedies. “With @betrremedies our giveback component addresses the medication access problem that we have in this country,” she wrote in her IG caption announcing the brand. “Our hope with this company is to give consumers the power of choice.”

And she has a podcast!

What can't this woman do? Tell Me with Ellen Pompeo launched September 29, 2021, and its first season of podcasts wrapped on August 3, 2022. On the show, she hosts guests and her celeb friends to talk about topics that are near and dear to her heart. Hopefully there’s more to come!

P.S. I’m dropping the link to the episode with Patrick Dempsey, a.k.a. McDreamy, here. You’re welcome.
