Ever since I moved to the Big Apple (how locals refer to New York City) to pursue my big dreams of having it all, I’ve dealt with the dark side of media: The necessity to be extremely online. This, in turn, requires me to bring my laptop home every night. You never know when you will be asked to cover Beyoncé’s secret single or social an image of a cat in a leather moto jacket (Grungy Cat). When I first moved to the City That Never Sleeps, I tried to do the purse thing but a laptop never fit quite right. I feared it would fall out, get damaged, and I'd be fired, never work in this industry again, move to my parent’s basement, buy ten cats, and be killed by said cats. No legacy, all thanks to the wrong bag.

In 2016, I decided to commit to The Backpack. I can’t say enough about my admiration for The Backpack. Zippers, pockets, compartments, space, and everything else I’ve been missing in my one-bedroom apartment. I started by rocking a classic black JanSport, but realized I needed to elevate my style and not constantly look like I was late for 3rd period AP Science (yes, Advanced Placement). But what backpack would I get? I looked for inspiration everywhere, but it wasn’t until I traveled across the globe to Tokyo that I found my staple piece. While walking and shopping in Shibuya, I saw what I imagine was my Tokyo doppelgänger, dressed to the nines and wearing a, wait for it, Supreme backpack. It was a sign from the heavens that I needed to invest in the hypebeast'iest of all hypebeast items. The Supreme backpack was perfect for me: I wear the item every day, but not all day, and it never clashes with an outfit. Also, I’m not going to lie, Supreme knows what it's doing. It has a compartment for my computer, for my keys, for my water, for my chapstick, and for my makeup. I imagine I, beauty producer at ELLE.com, was the exact wearer they had in mind when they were crafting it.
