If there is one thing that 51-year-old supermodel Elle Macpherson knows it’s how to take care of your body and age gracefully. She told Yahoo Beauty editor-in-chief Bobbi Brown that for her, it’s all about tackling beauty from the inside out. “I truly believe nourishment is the number one place to start, particularly for women at my age,” Macpherson, who is also behind green beauty supplement The Super Elixir, told Yahoo Beauty. Below, she shares six of her tips for transforming your health in the new year.

1. “An old favorite — first thing in the morning, try to drink 500mL of water with lemon juice to balance the body’s acidity.”

2. “Swap cow’s milk for almond, rice, or coconut milk.”

3. “Try swapping one coffee a day for a green drink. Add two teaspoons of The Super Elixir Alkalizing Greens in water or coconut water for optimum wellness.”

4. “Have one meat-free day a week. Try to reduce consumption of red meat, eat more fish and organic hormone free chicken — a good, clean source of protein and omega 3s.”

5. “Eat more plants. Add as many green vegetables to your diet as possible —salads, lightly steamed vegetables, green veggie smoothies, etc.”
