Elle Fanning Opens Miu Miu’s ’80s-Inspired Fall 2018 Show

Elle Fanning made her runway debut at Miu Miu today—see her runway walk here.

Elle Fanning made her catwalk debut today at Miu Miu. The 19-year-old actress was the first model out on Miu Miu’s Fall 2018 runway; she was wearing a camel coat and her hair was whipped into a retro bouffant. Fanning was followed by an all-star cast of Miu Miu models, including Georgia May Jagger, Slick Woods, Adwoa Aboah, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Kaia Gerber, and Edie Campbell before she appeared again to close the show in a gray coat with leather trim, a chartreuse kerchief, and some teetering heels.

As any Fanning fan would know, Elle has a long history as a Miu Miu muse. She first appeared in the brand’s Spring 2014 campaign alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Lupita Nyong’o and has been a near-constant presence in Miu Miu’s front rows and advertisements ever since. Her sister, Dakota, is also a long-term Miu Miu collaborator, who, in addition to appearing in campaigns and attending fashion shows, directed her first short film for the brand this February. (Dakota talked to Vogue about the experience here.)

As for Elle’s runway turn, all signs point her to having had a great time on the catwalk: As she led the pack of Miu Miu girls for their finale walk, she couldn’t help but burst into a big smile.
