Elle Fanning seems to have saved her best Cannes look for last.

On Saturday, the actor walked the red carpet for the closing ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, ending her professional engagements there—even though it seemed like just yesterday (or rather, two days ago) that the actor first arrived on the French Riviera in a baby-blue suit.

For this occasion, however, she opted for a transparent dress fresh off the runway. Her Gucci gown, complete with a plunging neckline and dramatic backless cut, debuted at the label’s Cruise 2025 show on May 13, a little under two weeks before Fanning wore it at Cannes. Made with a pleated white fabric, the recent design features an all-over miniature sunflower print and ruching at the waist.

Showing off the flowing fit of the dress, Fanning twirled on the red carpet, allowing the gown’s oversize sleeves to trail behind her. She wore a pair of matching white shorts underneath the garment to offset its transparency, and added a slim silver watch to her wrist. She also wore large gold-leaf earrings reminiscent of the Palm d’Or itself.

To match the retro feel of her ensemble, the star opted for a subtle ’70s beauty look, dusting her flushed cheeks with pink blush and adding a thin veil of green eye shadow. Her shoulder-length blonde hair also mimicked the vintage vibes in a straightened hairstyle with flipped-up ends. All together, Fanning looked like a glowing ’70s goddess.
