Elizabeth Olsen Jokes That She Wants Fans to 'Terrify' Marvel Into Bringing Wanda Back

Elizabeth Olsen has spoken about her Marvel future following her latest appearance as Wanda Maximoff AKA the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The star appeared on The Tonight Show to promote her new children's book Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective and told host Jimmy Fallon that she absolutely wants to return to the MCU, but that she is still in the dark as everyone else.
"I hope so. They don't tell me anything about my fate," Olsen said.
"I should come back. But I really... I don't know. I want fans to be so aggressive and terrify [Marvel] into doing it," Olsen joked, channeling her inner Scarlet Witch before back-tracking and clarifying that using force is "not a good way to do anything".
"I take that back. No one needs to use force," she said. "I would love to do more."
So far, Olsen has appeared in seven MCU projects, starting with the uncredited cameo that introduced Wanda in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Olsen was then properly introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron before appearing in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
After those appearances, Olsen starred in the first ever MCU Disney+ show WandaVision, which received critical acclaim. This series led to Wanda being set up as a Marvel villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opposite America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) himself.
At the end of that movie, Wanda seemingly sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold and stop anyone else being possessed by the demon book, which corrupted her. Wanda brings down the structure of Wundagore Mountain, seemingly crushing herself, but we never see a dead body to confirm the death.
Plus, a mysterious burst of red energy explodes just as the mountain comes crushing down. Could this indicate that Wanda perhaps teleported somewhere? Maybe to a different dimension or universe?
Whatever the case, no one ever really dies in the MCU, so there is always room for Wanda to make another appearance – be that in a series or a solo movie or an appearance in another project.
That is especially true now that the multiverse is officially in the MCU and is being actively explored. Whether Olsen will come back as the Earth-616 Wanda that supposedly died in Multiverse of Madness or whether she will appear as an alternate Wanda, however, remains to be seen.
Given the character's popularity and Olsen's acclaimed performances in the MCU, it seems highly likely that Kevin Feige and co will want to bring Wanda back at some point.
In the meantime, Marvel has green lit the Disney+ show Agatha: House of Harkness, which will bring back Kathryn Hahn's villainous Agatha Harkness after her key role in WandaVision. This show could theoretically be a good time to reintroduce Wanda to the MCU, but with Marvel... who knows?
