Sure, most celebrities stay away from "scandalous" Instagram pics for good reason - but actress Elizabeth Hurley is one who posts what she wants, when she wants. Of course, in true internet fashion, people are always quick to judge the 52-year-old actress.

Case in point: The Royals actress recently posted a picture in honor of her favorite episode from the show's current season.

Her outfit choice - remember it's her character's costume- has riled up the Instagram trolls. "It’s not normal for a 50 year old woman to dress like that with her son. If you think it is, I’d have a word," wrote one commenter.

This isn't the first time that the actress caught flak after posting a picture with her son. Hurley posted this sweet mother-son picture on her son's birthday:

Some focused on her cleavage. Others praised her good looks. "Gorgeous girl! I hope he thanks you everyday for the incredible genes you passed on to him," wrote one commenter.

Another commenter raised an important question:"Why does a woman have to give up her individuality because she is a mother? I'd rather my mother be confident in herself and accept her hard work for her physical health and flaunt it."

And in case you have any qualms about her son, well, don't. The budding model and actor was born into controversy - Hurley had a very public (and ugly) scandal with her son's father, Steve Bing. The actress claimed she was in an exclusive 18-month relationship with Bing, which he publicly denied - until the paternity test proved otherwise. She now raises Damian as a single mother but leans on her famous pals, notably ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant, for help.

Hurley and Grant were together for 13 years before they amicably split in 2000. The two remain close friends, and the actor is one of Damian's godfathers, along with David Beckham, Elton John, and Dennis Leary (talk about good company!).

We also have the former couple to thank for the infamous paper clip dress from the premiere of his movie, Four Weddings and a Funeral. Yep, the OG barely-there dress.
