Elisabeth Moss is pregnant with her first child and officially confirmed the news on national TV.

Moss appeared on Tuesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, during which host Jimmy Kimmel jokingly asked if her baby bump meant she was pregnant or just method acting, referring to her The Handmaid's Tale character June/Offred.

"A little bit of both," Moss answered with a laugh as the audience applauded. Kimmel followed up by asking the actress how she'd been feeling, to which she said things had been sailing smoothly. "I've been really lucky," she said. "It's been going really well."

Since Kimmel has four kids of his own, Moss asked the host if he had any advice when it comes to preparing for the arrival of her little one. "I wanted to ask you if you had any advice," she said. "Things to buy, things to bring to the delivery room, anything?"

Kimmel shared a tip that was given to his wife by Bill Murray, of all people. "He said bring Christmas lights to hang up [in the delivery room]," Kimmel explained, adding that the actor also suggested battery-powered candles. "Because the lighting is terrible in the room. It's Walmart-style lighting for this blessed event that's going to happen, and you don't want that."

"I think that's a really good list, I like that," Moss said.

The Emmy-winning actress has been known to stay mum about her personal life. She was previously married to comedian Fred Armisen before the two split in 2011 and dated Australian cinematographer Adam Arkapaw from 2012 to 2015. In 2019, Moss revealed she was in a relationship during an interview with Marie Claire. However, she chose not to reveal any details, saying, "I learned you just don't talk about it. Who really gives a shit whether or not I'm dating anyone? I hate to put that importance on it. I cringe a little."
