Elijah Wood Subtly Confirms He's Now a Dad of 2
The actor manages to keep his home life very private.
Despite starring in some major franchises, Elijah Wood continues to successfully keep his private life private, surprising everyone when he recently revealed that he had a second child with his partner, Mette-Marie Kongsved, last year.
In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, Wood described his home life, "We've got a 3-year-old son and a 14-month-old daughter, and she wakes us up pretty early. I like getting up early, I like starting the day."
It's the first time the Lord of the Rings actor publicly stated that he's a father of two.
The 42-year-old actor and Kongsved, 31, who is a film producer, previously welcomed their son Evan in 2019. In the new interview, Wood didn't reveal their younger daughter's name.

Touching on his tendency to be very private about his life, Wood said that he has an Instagram account, but it's private, and he doesn't plan to make a public one anytime soon.
He explained, "I wanted to be able to share photos that I didn’t necessarily want to share with the world. An account that’s public-facing would really change what I share. It’s not like I’m sharing anything that I wouldn’t want to go out, but I’m a relatively private person.”
Wood is currently promoting the second season of the hit series Yellowjackets, which premieres March 26 on Showtime. He plays a new character in Season 2 named Walter, a "citizen detective" whose story intertwines with that of Christina Ricci's character Misty.
The show tells the story of a high school girls soccer team that survives in the wilderness of Ontario after a plane crash. Yellowjackets jumps back and forth from the characters as teenagers immediately after the crash to their lives as adults in society, dealing with the ramifications of the ordeal years earlier.
Wood is also set to star alongside Jacob Tremblay and Kevin Bacon in the upcoming film The Toxic Avenger.
