Eli Roth Announces Thanksgiving 2 Is in the Works

Eli Roth has announced that John Carver will kill again as Sony has greenlit a sequel to his movie Thanksgiving.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Roth said, "We want to outdo ourselves, make it better than the first one". He said he and Jeff Rendell will be collaborating again on the screenplay, and "It'll be released theatrically worldwide sometime in 2025, probably around Thanksgiving."

Thanksgiving hit theaters last month and tells the story of a Black Friday riot which ends in tragedy and a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer that terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts - the birthplace of the infamous holiday.

The cast includes Patrick Dempsey, Ty Olsson, Gina Gershon, Gabriel Davenport, Karen Cliche, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, Derek McGrath, Katherine Trowell and Jalen Thomas Brooks.

Eli Roth said in his announcement that "it's always been a dream to make a slasher franchise", and he and Rendell will be taking their time on penning the sequel.
