If there’s one thing we want to know about the lifestyles of the rich and famous, it’s what breakfast looks like. Everybody wants to know the morning meal that holds the secrets to success, whether it’s Ina Garten’s microwave oatmeal or Michelle Obama’s daily PB&J that propels these icons to greatness.

Well, for two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, his morning meal might actually be an important player in his triumphant football career—and best of all, it’s pretty dang easy to replicate.

Manning sat down with Allrecipes to talk about his (and his brother Peyton’s) new partnership with King's Hawaiian, but in addition to sharing his favorite Slider Sunday recipe, he also gave us some insights into his family life, including what he and his three daughters eat for breakfast every morning.

What Eli Manning Eats for Breakfast Every Day

To no one’s surprise, the former New York Giant’s day gets off to a pretty healthy start, and what he prepares for his kids is exactly what he eats as well. Because he’s up early, he says, he’s in charge of the breakfast preparation, and day after day, that offering is the same: bowls of fresh fruit.

“I’m a big fruit person in the morning for breakfast so, you know, I’m eating fruit,” he shared. Even though a routine of daily fruit might seem boring, it sounds like Manning keeps things fresh and fun for his kids (and himself) at the start of the day.

“I’m always cutting up strawberries, putting raspberries and blueberries and blackberries together,” he said. "One of my daughters only likes cantaloupe, so I'm always kind of cutting it into different things. When they come down, there’s always bowls of fruit ready for them.”

Now, that’s not to say the Manning household always fills up on berries for a full meal, but as long as they start the day with fresh fruit, Dad’s happy.

“It’s like, get that first, and if you want something afterward, something more complex, some carbs or whatnot, we’ll get you that as well,” said Manning.

Back in 2018, an ESPN article concluded Manning’s meal habits are part of what kept him so spry during his 16-season NFL career, routinely eating the same thing for breakfast every day, according to his teammates. Five years later, it seems his “creature of habit” breakfast is still keeping him active and energetic long after his 2020 football retirement.

Eli Manning’s Favorite 1-Ingredient Snack

Manning went on to tell us his go-to, anytime snack, and unlike another NFL quarterback who can’t resist some late-night chips, Manning’s favorite snack is just as wholesome as his breakfast.

Sure, he enjoys munching on dips and sliders at the tailgate party—he’s even a self-proclaimed sucker for cookies—but there’s one snack Manning enjoys on the regular to stay fueled.

“Raw carrots!” he said.

“I love raw carrots and all my kids love raw carrots, which is fun,” Manning told us. “They do like the little baby ones that come in a bag which are easy. but they even love shaving their raw carrot and going through the whole process of getting that ready, prepping it their own way, and shaving it off.”

Are fresh fruit and raw carrots the key to two Super Bowl rings? They just might be. We bet if you're looking for the meal hack to a successful life, Manning's simple staples are a good place to start.
