ELENA L. PEREZ: Good morning, everyone. And welcome to our final session. I'm Elena Perez. And I'm one of the video editors for MAKERS.
- Whoo.
ELENA L. PEREZ: You've already seen some of the profiles that I've edited for this year's conference like Mabel Blair and Sarah Nasseri. I also edit sizzle videos from our events and clips for social media. I've always loved reading, and writing, and telling stories. I went to school for creative writing, screenwriting, playwriting. I go where the stories lead me.
I've worked backstage in live theater, on film sets, in publishing, and now as a video editor. I love reading diverse stories. And when I was young, I always sought out stories with powerful females or unique experiences. To me, the future looks like creating something new, imagining something completely different than what has been done before.
It's acknowledging the past and leaving behind the aspects that are not working to create or rediscover solutions for problems we are facing now. Fun fact, the very first MAKERS videos I worked on where Tony Porter and Dianne Carlson Evans.
