El Paso Animal Services host ‘Star Wars’ event for pets

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Animal Services will hold a free pet event to celebrate “Star Wars.”

“Bark Wars” is a free pet event that’s designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all. It will be held at the El Paso Animal Services Center, 5001 Fred Wilson Ave., and will take place on from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

According to Animal Services’ news release, the event will offer free microchips, pet ID tags, and adoptions.

The Far East Animal Care Center will also be at the event, providing on-site vaccinations for cats and dogs, including the Rabies vaccine, Parvo and Bordetella vaccines for dogs, and FVRCP vaccines for cats.

Also featured at the event will be a variety of vendors, games, pet photography, food, and a pet costume contest, according to Animal Services.

The BISSELL Pet Foundation will cover adoption fees from May 1 through May 15 with their “Empty the Shelters” campaign.

“We’re grateful for the collaboration of all the organizations involved in providing engaging ways to help needy pets. This event brings our community together to support shelter pets, and we’re so thankful for everyone’s commitment to this cause,” said Director of El Paso Animal Services Terry Kebschull.
