While double-stick tape can certainly lead to gifts that look professionally wrapped, the material isn't exactly pleasant to work with. But luckily, we've been clued into a smart alternative courtesy of Wrap Battle star Eddie Ross. His secret weapon for getting seamless, tape-free edges? A glue gun.

Instead of messing with double-stick tape, Ross uses a few dabs of hot glue to tack down his wrapping paper. Because hot glue melts at a relatively low temperature and cools quickly, a small amount of it won't damage delicate paper. And unlike double-stick tape, it's strong enough to hold even heavy-duty or glittery gift wrap together.
