Ed Sheeran Tops Spotify's Most Streamed Artist List 2017

We were just “Thinking Out Loud” about how Ed Sheeran got snubbed in the 2018 Grammy nominations, but then Spotify came out with its annual Year in Music list and, well, our boy Ed appears to be doing just fine.

According to the music streaming service, Sheeran is the most streamed artist of 2017 with 6.3 billion hits. But that’s not all. The “Perfect” singer also holds the top spot for the biggest album of the year, Divide, with 3.1 billion streams and the top song, “Shape of You,” with 1.4 billion streams.

Drake, who took the top spot in 2015 and 2016, came in as the second most streamed artist, followed by the Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar, respectively. The Chainsmokers rounded out the top five.

Take that, Grammy committee.
