Some Ed Sheeran fans got quite the surprise yesterday, June 10, while tailgating ahead of his concert at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

The "Tenerife Sea" singer took a field trip early in the afternoon, hopping onto a golf cart to zip through the parking lot where concert-goers were hanging out before heading into the venue. From the passenger seat of the vehicle, he passed out bottles of Tingly Ted's—his own brand of hot sauce—to the folks grilling out of their trunks and lounging in their portable lawn chairs.

Sheeran pulled bottle after bottle out of a brown shopping bag, tossing them to groups as they rode by with security running alongside the cart and fans cheering them on, running up to film their own videos of the gesture.

Local radio station Z100 shared a clip of the moment on TikTok, summing it up perfectly: "Its [sic] not a tailgate without @Ed Sheeran 🎊🫶."

Fans were tickled by the gesture, with one commenting, "He’s so random I love him lmfao."

"i just know his security guards are tired LOL he’s always doing something out of pocket," another joked.

"The security guys running and the golf cart driver just smiling and living his best life," someone else laughed.

Others were bummed to have missed out, with one lamenting, "When you were there but he didn’t come to your parking lot 😭."

The singer is currently touring in celebration of the end of his mathematical series of albums, the most recent of which is Subtract. He's previously expressed interest in shifting into the country genre someday, so for now, we'll just have to wait and see what comes next.
