Ed Sheeran Is Starting a New Engagement Ring Tradition By Wearing One Himself
Now this is Perfect. Grammy winner Ed Sheeran confirmed this week that he has yet to marry fiancee Cherry Seaborn, but the suspicious bauble on his ring finger is a token of his love for his future wife. In fact, it’s a tradition that he would like to see with increased frequency.
“I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings,” Sheeran, 27, told British talk show Lorraine on Tuesday. “It’s the same commitment either way.”
Speculation reached fever pitch this week that the couple had secretly married following their New Year engagement announcement. Sheeran stepped out for a dinner wearing the piece while out to dinner with Seaborn in London.
“Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay,” Sheeran added. “I really like it.”

Along with his marital status—or lack thereof—Sheeran addressed another hot topic: The royal wedding on May 19. (No, he will not be performing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.)
“They asked, ‘If you were asked, would you say yes?’” he added to BBC in a separate interview. “And I was like, ‘Of course.’ But journalists like, everyone’s like, ‘He’s playing it!’ But no one’s looked at my tour dates. I’m in Ireland, I can’t do it. I haven’t been asked either.”

The “Shape Of You” singer announced his engagement to the risk advisory consultant last month. “Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” he wrote on Instagram. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”
