But he's not giving details.

It's pretty much common knowledge by now that Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are BFF material. The pair solidified their friendship a few years ago with their first duet, and there have been whispers of a new collaboration in the works. (We can only dream.) Recently, Ed even let slip when Taylor might be releasing new music: something that only insiders — or best friends — know.

That said, it turns out that Ed's place in Taylor's squad is a little more complex than anyone might have initially thought. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the singer-songwriter confessed that he was romantically involved with some of Taylor's friends while they were on tour together. "I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates," Ed explained. "It was very easy."

And while Ed won't kiss and tell the specifics, he admits that some of the songs on his album x were about these star-studded flings. It makes sense, as there's been endless speculation that his song "Don't" was written about Ellie Goulding. Of course, with the way the celebrity rumor mill goes, there's also been speculation that Ed and Taylor were a thing at one point — a rumor that both singers deny. "There wasn't any truth to it whatsoever," Ed explained, adding that Taylor "would be there if everything ended for me."
