Ecstatic Skiers Line-Up For Opening Day At Keystone, CO

Yesterday, November 1st, Keystone Resort, Colorado, joined Arapahoe Basin in kicking off the Coloradan ski season.

Unsurprisingly, those in attendance were all smiles -- full disclosure, now might be a good time if, like me, you're currently struggling with a bad case of FOMO.

Should you choose to persevere, here's a look at Keystone's opening day excitement.

Yeah. Me too. I'm also jealous.

Never in my life have I wanted to stand in a line more. Okay, that's not entirely true -- I felt exactly the same way this time last season as I waited not-so-patiently for my local resort to fire up the lifts.

Thus, I'm stuck doing everything I can to forget that skiing is so close I can almost taste it. Let me know if you've found any good pre-season distractions -- staring at the wall and pretending that skiing doesn't exist has started to lose its charm.

Side note: Keystone reports that some skiers and snowboarders waited 36 hours in advance for the honor of first chair, lining up Monday night.

As for the piste offerings yesterday, skiers had access to "two miles of terrain from the top of Dercum Mountain to the bottom of the Montezuma Express lift," per a recent press release. To begin and end the day, first-day revelers loaded and downloaded the River Run Gondola.

Keystone plans to continue snowmaking and opening terrain as quickly as possible -- they have their sights set on top-to-bottom River Run access and opening the Mountain House base area next.
