ECCHA to host 38th Fido and Friends 5k Fun Run and Walk

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – If you have to spell the word “walk” around your furry friend, the Eau Claire County Humane Association’s (ECCHA) upcoming 5k may be a good reason to grab that leash and get moving to help support homeless pets. For the 38th year, ECCHA is hosting one of its largest fundraisers, the Fido and Friends 5k Fun Run and Walk. People and their pets are invited to Carson Park at the Pine Pavilion on Saturday, May 18th to stretch their paws.

Participants are encouraged to do peer-to-peer fundraising with all funds going back to pets at the association. The event will have adoptable pets, pet-centric giveaways, and a new prize for the person who raises the most. ECCHA Marketing and Development Director, Addie Ermann, says, “The person who raises the most for the peer-to-peer fundraiser this year ah their pet will be the official Fido and Friends Ambassador for 2025. So, they get a complimentary photo shoot with Betty Scott Photography. One of those pictures will be hung up in the shelter under our official Fido and Friends Ambassador area and they have the opportunities to be in marketing for the 2025 Fido and Friends.”

Registration for the walk is $35 dollars. You can register the day of the event in Carson Park at 7:30 am. The 5k kicks off at 8:30 am and people and pets are encouraged to come dressed up for this year’s Olympic theme.
