While athleisure outfits are similar to sweats, Miami stylist Michelle Price tells Prevention.com that the latter can make you feel a bit too comfy, making it hard to accomplish daily tasks. "Althleisure clothing keeps you in an 'active' state of mind," Price says. "Sweats tempt you to stay in bed instead of tackling the day."

To create the perfect athleisure outfit, start with the basics...literally. Build on a cotton t-shirt or stretchy leggings before, say, adding an oversize cardigan. And even though you're dressing down, it's perfectly fine to add jewelry, headbands, or other accessories on top. The key is to balance basics with add-ons in a way that makes you feel comfy yet stylish. "Mixing comfort with structured pieces will create a polished, pulled-together look," Price explains.
