East St. Louis community garden dedicated to helping neighbors in food desert

When Patrice Rogers’ father died, she was intent on carrying on his legacy. She did so by converting the plot of land he left for her in East St. Louis to a community garden.

The Preston Community Garden, now in its third year, is dedicated to growing produce and providing nourishment to residents who live in what’s been described as a food desert.

FOX 2’s Jasmine Huda has more on the effort to foster nourishment and community involvement.
