Earth Day: How to go green, while saving green

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET)– Chuck Magee, the public works manager at Kern County Public Works, joined 17 News Sunrise to celebrate Earth Day by demonstrating ways to go green while saving money.

Convenience items such as disposable paper plates, plastic utensils, plastic cups, zip-log bags, napkins, and plastic water bottles, while commonly used, are not beneficial to towards saving and to sustaining a green environment, according to Magee.

In substitution to repeatedly buying disposable items and to making a small difference. He advices to, instead, buy reusable cloths rather than napkins, food containers, metal water bottles, and reusable plates.

These small changes are most convenient for wasting less money, cleaning dishware, saving time, and helping the Earth.
