Earn Up to 20 Miles Per Each Dollar Spent With Frontier's Revamped Loyalty Program

It'll also be easier to earn status with the airline.

Frontier Airlines became the latest carrier to revamp its loyalty program on Tuesday, allowing travelers to earn up to 20 miles for every dollar spent and adding new loyalty tiers.

For 2024, the airline has created a new, lower status tier and made it easier to accrue miles as travelers fly, making it faster to earn status, Frontier shared with Travel + Leisure.

“We are thrilled to announce some exciting new ways for our customers to ‘Get it All for Less’ when they fly with us,” Barry Biffle, the CEO of Frontier Airlines, said in a statement provided to T+L. “We are making the new FRONTIER Miles program like no other loyalty program in the airline industry when it comes to earning free flights and getting valuable status quickly and for less. If you are someone who travels three or four times a year, you can easily earn a free flight and status with great new benefits in no time.”

Next year, the airline’s Frontier Miles program will go from three levels (Elite 20K status, Elite 50K status, and Elite 100K status) to four.

New 2024 Levels:

  • Silver (a new status level offered at 10,000 miles)

  • Gold (the new Elite 20K status offered at 20,000 miles)

  • Platinum (the new Elite 50K status offered at 50,000 miles)

  • Diamond (the new Elite 100K status offered at 100,000 miles)

Going forward, travelers will earn 10 miles for every $1 spent on things like flights, baggage, and seat selection. The amount of miles earned per dollar will then increase as travelers reach each status level up to 20 miles per $1.

Travelers who reach each status level will earn:

  • Silver: 12X mileage multiplier per dollar spent

  • Gold: 14X mileage multiplier per dollar spent

  • Platinum: 16X mileage multiplier per dollar spent

  • Diamond: 20X mileage multiplier per dollar spent

Each of the airline’s new status levels will come with perks travelers currently receive when they reach 20K status, like a free seat assignment and priority boarding, and will now also come with no change or cancellation fees up to seven days before departure. Travelers will only receive a free carry-on bag when they reach Gold status.

The airline will also add new perks to higher status tiers, like offering a free checked bag and free pet-in-cabin for travelers who reach Platinum level or above. Travelers who reach the Diamond level will also be able to gift Gold status to a friend or family member, while travelers who reach the Platinum level can gift Silver status.

The decision to change up its loyalty program comes weeks after Frontier welcomed status matching with dozens of different airlines, hotel chains, and cruise lines.

It also comes after Delta Air Lines walked back some updates to its own loyalty program following backlash over previously-announced changes making it harder to reach each tier.

Earlier this month, Southwest also made it easier to earn status with the airline for next year by lowering the number of qualifying flights needed to reach both A-List and A-List Preferred status as well as make it easier to earn points with qualifying credit cards.
