EA’s Forthcoming ‘Wild Hearts’ Offers a “Twist on the Hunting Genre”

EA and Koei Tecmo are giving fans a first look at its forthcoming ancient adventure title, Wild Hearts, with a new reveal trailer. Developed in partnership with Omega Force, the game is billed as a “twist on the hunting genre where ancient tech gives you a fighting chance against giant beasts.”

Set in Azuma, a fantasy land inspired by feudal Japan, Wild Hearts pits players against giant beasts living among nature called Kemono, showcased in the new video. While the landscape was once peaceful, it’s now overrun with creatures ranging from “plant-infused squirrels” to “massive Kingtusk wild boar.”

Players will take on the Kemono with the help of Karakuri, a term for a form of ancient, long-lost technology, to once again restore peace in Azuma. The game will be available in a pack hunting-style multiplayer mode with up to two friends or players can venture out on their own for a solo expedition.

Wild Hearts opens up a vibrant fantasy world to players that’s as untamed as it is beautiful,” Executive VP of Koei Tecmo Games Yosuke Hayashi said.

“With Wild Hearts, not only did we want to showcase the evolution, infusion and real threat caused by Kemono, but we also wanted to create a game where crafting was at the core of the experience, redefining what can be possible in a beast hunting game.

Wild Hearts launches on February 17, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Origin, Steam and Epic Game Store for $69.99 USD.
