Season 4 of Élite is here and there are new students walking the halls of Las Encinas.

After the thriller teen drama closed the chapter on Marina (María Pedraza)'s death last season, the high school in Spain is opening its doors and welcoming in a new family. Despite viewers finally seeing their favorite characters make peace with each other and go in different directions, it doesn’t seem like everything will stay that way. In fact, there will likely be more twists and turns in the episodes to come, especially with Netflix officially green-lighting a fifth season last January. For those eager to learn what lies ahead, here's what we know about season 4 of Élite:

When will Élite season 4 premiere on Netflix?

Season 4 of Élite is premiering on Friday, June 18. Netflix announced the news with a minute-long clip. While no one speaks in the video below, it still hints at how the original Élite characters and newcomers will get along.

The fourth installment will come more than a year after fans first heard it was in the works. Last May, a video of the cast revealed that everyone had received their scripts and started working on the next installment. Later on in December, Netflix gave viewers a quick update that the show had wrapped up filming the upcoming season.

Who is in the cast of Élite season 4?

As fans may recall, Lu and Nadia (Mina El Hammani) left Spain to study at Columbia University in New York City after Polo's death. Carla (Ester Expósito) also decided to leave the country for boarding school. But before doing so, she split the responsibilities of her wineries between her father and Valerio (Jorge López), who dropped out of school. Élite fans should consider these events as the formal exits of the five beloved characters.

Before season 3 ended, the series fast-forwarded two months into the future and showed a handful of the friends returning to Las Encinas to finish their final year together. Based on who reunited after summer break and who was part of the season 4 announcement video, the main cast will be comprised of:

What’s more, in July 2020, four new cast members were added, including Manu Ríos, Carla Diaz, Martina Cariddi and Pol Granch. Manu, Carla and Martina are set to play the children of the new director of Las Encinas, who will be portrayed by Spanish actor Diego Martín.

Are there any Élite season 4 spoilers?

Right now, not many details are known about Élite season 4. But we do know that it will be the last season for actors Itzan Escamilla and Omar Ayuso, according to FormulaTV. The two Spanish stars have been part of the main cast since the start of the show playing best friends Samuel and Omar.

Last we saw, Samuel was given the good news that his mother and brother could come back safely to Spain after fleeing to Morocco. But did they actually return or is he still on his own?

Meanwhile, Omar decided last minute not to go to New York with his sister, Nadia, and stayed behind to be with his parents and his boyfriend, Ander. At the end of season 3, Omar joined Ander and Samuel as a student at Las Encinas. Perhaps, the best friends will also decide to move on after graduation ...
