Dyson Just Launched a Flat Iron that Won't Fry Your Hair

Color fading, dryness, and breakage are common side effects of regularly straightening your hair with a flat iron. But with the Dyson Corrale, the brand's first-ever flat iron, heat damage doesn't have to be a part of your haircare routine anymore.

As with the Dyson's Supersonic Hair Dryer and Airwrap styling tool, the latest innovation is going to make you rethink hair tools. The Corrale has patented flex plates and is entirely cord-free, powered instead by four rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. These copper alloy plates bend and flex as you run the tool down your hair. Since the hair won't come out from the sides of the flat iron, you'll get results in a single pass, which means less heat exposure. The plates also have tourmaline edges, which reduce static and frizz.

Inside the plates is Dyson's Intelligent Heat Control, which monitors the heat of your hair 100 times a second to make sure its the temperature you selected all the way down the strand you're working on. Speaking of heat, the Corrale has three temperature settings: 330, 365, and 410 Fahrenheit.

According celebrity hairstylist and brand ambassador Jen Atkin, who also helped with the product development, The Corrale works across all hair types and textures, and can be used for sleek styles, curls, or beachy waves.

However, innovation does come with a price. Like Dyson's hair dryer and heatless styling tool, The Corrale will set you back $500. But we're still sure its game-changing technology is what will make the flat iron sell out fast.
