Dylan Sprouse Offers Advice to Seniors During Teen Vogue's Virtual Prom

For some, a virtual prom can’t quite compare to the real thing, but Dylan Sprouse has an alternative point of view.

The actor stopped by Teen Vogue’s Virtual Prom on Saturday, May 16, where he offered some perspective for seniors who might be feeling sad about missing their high school proms. “I want you to dance, I want you to sing,” he urged. “And I want you to be extremely comfortable with the fact that you can do all of that in solace.”

Dylan went on to explain some of the unexpected benefits of having your prom at home. “No one will be around to talk about what you’ve done,” he joked. “You won’t have any awkward limo rides with friends that you won’t speak to after college, and you won’t share the ‘joy’ of an awkward kiss under the strobe lights of your school dance hall.” TBH, fair points were made!

Of course, prom can be a special experience, and missing out on an IRL celebration has been disappointing to plenty of high school seniors — which is why Teen Vogue put together a virtual prom filled with celeb appearances, performances, and more.

During his surprise appearance, Dylan also talked about what he’s been working on at home: his newly grown facial hair. “I hope your time off has been very productive,” he said during his video message. “I know it has been for me. As you can see, I took all of my time and dedicated it to the art of growing a dirty blonde beard and mustache, which is an art — despite what the teachers say.”

The actor ended his message with a wish for this year’s seniors. “I hope you’ve gotten closer to your family and friends; I hope you’ve learned and bonded with them; I hope it’s given you much insight into who you want to be when you grow older into the next phase of your life. And more than anything, I hope you have a very great night.”
