Dylan Sprouse Was Body-Shamed by Disney Exec, Told to Look More Like Brother Cole on 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody'

Dylan and Cole Sprouse were introduced to the world as the lovable and rambunctious twins Zack and Cody Martin on the hit Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. They continued to grow up in the public eye and have remained working actors to this day—a feat of its own after being a child actor in the entertainment industry.

Kim Rhodes, who played their on-screen mom, just shared some upsetting information about what the young twins faced on the set of The Suite Life. According to the Supernatural actress, an unnamed Disney executive screamed at craft services that there should be "no more junk food" allowed until Dylan lost weight and looked more like Cole.

“Dylan and Cole had different body types. And in front of everyone, Dylan was body-shamed," she revealed on Christy Carlson Romano’s Vulnerable podcast. Even though she only played their mom, she stepped in as only a mom could, defending Dylan as she "fucking lit into" the network executive who made the comment.

"I was like, 'You do not have the right to say that to a child. You do not have the right to be writing for children if that is your attitude. Never again do you speak like that. Never,'" she remembered saying.

Dylan and Rhodes had each other's back throughout the years of filming The Suite Life and its spinoff The Suite Life on Deck. In a recent interview on the Back to the Best podcast, Rhodes recounted how Dylan stood up for her to the powers that be when he was just a teenager. His character was supposed to make a fat joke when Rhodes was pregnant in real life at the time, but he put his foot down and refused to say the line.

It turns out Rhodes and the Sprouses really were a family both on and off screen.
