Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome Dylan Mulvaney!

Mulvaney, the famous influencer and TikToker who began her career on Broadway, is in talks to return to the Great White Way in one of the most iconic musical roles of all time.

The iconic musical Cabaret is having an upcoming Broadway revival following a wildly successful run in London, in which the play won seven Olivier Awards. It’s expected that Olivier winner Eddie Redmayne will continue his role as the Emcee.

Now, Page Six is reporting that trans actress and influencer Dylan Mulvaney is getting the chance to audition for the role of Sally Bowles in the musical.

The role of Sally Bowles has had many legendary actresses step into her tights and shoes. In the original West End production in 1968, Judi Dench played the role. In the Academy-Award-winning 1972 film, she was played by Liza Minelli, in a role that won her an Oscar. Most recently on Broadway, Sally was played by Michelle Williams, Emma Stone, and Sienna Miller.

While Mulvaney is mainly known as an influencer now, her training and experience are in the world of musicals. After earning a degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory in Music, she starred as Elder White in the US tour of The Book of Mormon. She also had roles in Next to Normal, Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie, and High School Musical off Broadway.

If she gets her audition, this would be her first role on Broadway.

The role would be a good fit for Mulvaney, as Cabaret takes place in Berlin during the Weimar Republic before the Nazis came into power. The play shows how sexually progressive and diverse Berlin was before the Nazis took over, and shows the beginnings of the violence done by Nazis to suppress that diversity.

Mulvaney herself has been the target of attacks from the Far Right after she posted a TikTok drinking a can of Bud Light with her face on it. When transphobes found out, they boycotted Bud Light, going into stores and destroying cans of it.
